We are pleased to announce the 4th edition of the BCI Coronavirus Organizational Preparedness Report. After the great participation to the first three editions of this insightful piece of research, we would like to thank our members and audience for continuosly providing their input on this and helping us build a global picture of the impact of the pandemic on organizations and their reaction to it.

As the impact of the pandemic begins to plateau in some countries, and management anticipate a return to a version of ‘business as usual”, we have added a new section to our fortnightly survey to examine how organizations are approaching the recovery phase. The first results are starting to show signs of long-term COVID-19 induced change in a post-pandemic world.

There are signs that some of the pandemic-imposed changes will become permanent. For example, the technology used to enable Work-from-Home solutions has increased, rather than reduced productivity. Management may find such unexpected benefits hard to let go.

It also appears that the direct experience of management and staff through the COVID-19 lockdown has increased the visibility of business continuity and resilience practices. Let's hope that this leads to an eagerly receptive audience for future continuity and resilience activities.
