The BCI has released the Extreme Weather and Climate Change Report 2022, sponsored by the National Grid. This report examines the impact of severe weather events and climate risks on organizations, as well as the drivers and barriers towards responding to these risks.

Severe weather events have increased, and they are affecting organizations now.  Most respondents report an increase in severe weather disruptions, something which is also corroborated by the scientific community.

The impacts of climate risk are already affecting key assets in an organization. These assets can
include loss of staff, power, or facilities.

Supply chains are suffering serious impacts from severe weather events. These result in higher
prices, backlogs, and delays in production.
