We know that the failure of a supplier can have a massive impact on our organization, especially if it's a loss of a supplier of IT applications and services.

When we discuss the resilience of these providers, how often do we hear, "our IT is ok as it's in the cloud," or "it's Software as a Service" (SaaS), and we're told not to worry about backup or disaster recovery? Some suppliers of these SaaS or Cloud services may be small, but others like Microsoft, Salesforce, and Amazon are some of the largest companies in the world. Therefore, it may be difficult for smaller organizations to dictate terms to them. If we want to use their services, we get what we are given.
