Stephen Nuttall is a Fellow of the Business Continuity Institute (FBCI), having been a member since 2000, and is also a BCI approved trainer and a certified ISO22301 Lead Auditor. Stephen is a former CIR BC Industry Personality of the Year and is currently the Chair of the BCI’s North West (England) Chapter. Stephen holds a post-graduate certificate in Management Coaching and is an approved BCI mentor. Stephen completed an MBA at the University of Central Lancashire with a final dissertation which, with the support of the BCI, looked at the perceptions of BC professionals on the use of BC standards such as ISO22301 and which formed the basis of an article in the BCI’s Continuity Journal for Q2 2017.

Stephen’s BC experience has covered areas such as government, banking, military, aerospace, IT service delivery operations, datacentres, insurance, and petro-chemicals, amongst many others. Stephen’s roles have included assignments such as: IT business continuity manager for the UK’s Department of Social Security; operational delivery of HP’s internal business continuity management programme across Europe, the Middle East and Africa; and Business Operations Manager for one of the largest business continuity practices in Europe - Hewlett-Packard’s EMEA Service Continuity organisation. In addition, Stephen has authored a number of articles on BC and ITSCM topics which have been published in professional journals. Stephen has spoken at a variety of BC conferences including Moscow, Texas, London, Eindhoven, Barcelona, Madrid and Bucharest and is always keen to share experiences and advice on BC topics.

Outside work, Stephen is a trustee of an animal rescue charity and is a keen private pilot, being the chairman of a Lancashire based flying-club and a qualified flying instructor.
