Karan is an ex Merchant Navy Officer, BITS PILANI alumnus, and Vice President & India Coverage of BCM at Morgan Stanley. Karan is responsible for providing strategic direction and smooth execution for the BCM and Crisis Management program across the vast set of business units of India Global In- House Centers, Front Office and Offsite Delivery Centre across Asia. Karan possesses over 15 years of diverse experience in areas of Enterprise Risk Management Program, BCM, Security , Safety and Crisis Management in financial and shipping industry. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Karan was managing Regional Security Operations Centre for Fidelity Investments in Bengaluru to coordinate the delivery of life safety monitoring, asset protection, and crisis management services to Asia Pacific offices. During his tenure of 9 years with Fidelity, Karan was associated with BCM, Security and ERM program. Before Fidelity, Karan was Merchant Navy Officer where in addition, he was involved in implementation of Behavior Based Safety program, International Ship and Port Security code and teaching at shipping colleges. Karan graduated from the BITS PILANI , is a Certified Business Continuity Professional, awarded Claritas Investment Certificate from CFA and member of following industry organizations; Member – Business Continuity Institute (MBCI), Member - Asia Crisis and Security Group (ACSG), Member – ASIS Crisis Management & Business Continuity Council (CMBC), Member - ASIS International. Karan has often spoken at BCM forums (BCI & DRII) and Security (ASIS, ACSG, OSAC) industry groups, including speaker at ASIS Asia-Pacific Security Forum and ACSG meeting in Singapore. He was part of jury panel to decide BCI India awards in 2013 and 2014. Karan’s professional goal is to make his organization resilient, evolves BCM program with changing threat landscape and acts as a value enabler to the organization, its employees, and leaves a positive impact to the industry and society.
