Mr Willem Hoekstra FBCI
Associate Managing Director, Kroll, Hong Kong, FBCI
Willem A. Hoekstra M MBA FBCI is an associate managing director in
the Cyber Risk practice of Kroll, based in Hong Kong. His specialism
is Business Resilience and Crisis Management.
Willem has over 20
years of hands-on experience in business continuity management (BCM),
encompassing awareness creation, managing board level crisis
management training–shifting attitudes to BCM into a holistic
operational resilience program involving every part of the
organization.
Willem joined Kroll in 2022 after serving in
senior positions for international banks in Europe and Asia, ABN Amro,
RBS, Societe Generale and Nomura, where his responsibilities also
included operational resilience and corporate security.
For many
years, Willem has been leader of the Hong Kong and Macau Chapter of
the BCI. Recently he was elected to join the Board of Directors of
this leading global institute. He was also the founding Chair of the
Hong Kong Financial Services BCM (HKFSBCM) forum, where he inaugurated
the WISE industry-wide exercises.
He has presented and/or
participated at numerous conferences and seminars on BCM and CM around
the globe. Willem holds an MBA, a Masters degree in Communication
Science, and a Propeadeuse degree in Economics.
